vhgmcbuddyMemberHi guys I’m completely rebuilding a 1947 British Junior engined gem.
After stripping down the engine I’ve noticed two different valves and different guides. I think somebody at some point has bodged a different valve and guide in. Any idea on a replacement valve? I can get a valve guide turned easy enough. I’m sure I’ve read that Landrover valves fit??Thanks

vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks, will find out tomorrow if it fits or not! Does anyone know where I can download or copy an instruction manual for the Auto culto Mk. 1X? I did try to go on the Auto Culto site, last night, But warned off by my computor security as Unsafe!

vhgmcbuddyMemberThank you! Now I know the axle has inner bushes, and it’s these that are seized on my Jalo. It’ll take a lot to loosen them after 50+ years.

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Wristpin was it necessary to remove varispeed assemble and after fitting belt should the nut you showed with the pencil be fully tightened as I saw a video of an American front wheel drive mower that allowed the gearbox to pivot in use .Regards Peter

vhgmcbuddyMemberI’m working at a scything weekend at the local National Trust property this weekend, and the green woodworking group attached to the property will be there – so I thought I’d see if I can commission an acquaintance who is a member. Otherwise, I’ll look into a stair hand rail.

vhgmcbuddyMemberI too think the handle was round, and would have been about 60cm long – held in place at the centre by the two bolts. You set me thinking with your comment about the bolt length, and I’ve been wondering if in fact the bolt length indicates what the diameter of the handle was. I’ve offered up dowel with varying diameters and I think a handle of about 35mm diameter would need bolts that long. (If I put the top domed metal plate with the square holes directly on top of the dished bottom half with the round holes which is attached to the frame, it makes an ellipse, not a circle so that makes me think there was a gap between them, and in fact that allows for a handle/dowel diameter which looks beefy enough to be strong enough to pull the roller.)
