MemberYes the blade definitely rotates the right way and can only rotate that way as it’s edged only on one side, which is to say you couldn’t turn it upside down either at it would bend up and hit the blade cover. So I am sure the engine is turning it the right way…

MemberMaybe I have a fusion of three different beasts!!
maybe the gearbox and main lower body isn.t even Wolesely?
I have noticed underneath the cutting blade there is the distinctive yellow paint colours of the old Clearways….
The last owner sold it to me as obviously non runner, I soon noticed there were multiple weird things like coil fitted back to front and internal parts to carburettor missing.. Think someone had a go and maybe put something back to front within the gearbox? I see no option visually or mechanically how To have the gearbox drive wheel turn the other way without turning the engine upside down so it turns the other way! It must be internal in gearbox or am I missing something really obvious? maybe I’m lacing it up wrong as I’m fitting this with no clear diagrams relative to this model..

MemberMine is pre-hydrostatic plus it has a ‘newer’ kubota engine on it which runs sweet… So far I have managed to service and have running most moving parts apart from the cabling from handlebars.
I’ll post some pics for you….

MemberHi Charlie. I am a researcher in the US and am intested in speaking with you regarding the information you have gathered on Geo. Monro Ltd.

MemberI cannot fathom how I still can get it to go forward? There is a lever on the right of gearbox which only selects slow (lever back), neutral (middle) or fast (lever forward)
The other lever that is on the left engages the belts and pulleys to spin the large grooved dish that clearly terminates inside the gearbox.. Maybe someone fiddled with it and put the gearbox back upside down ;0)March 27, 2021 at 1:36 pm #36841vhgmcbuddy
MemberOk my next question is, it currently only goes backwards when I engage the drive to the large wheel that goes into the gearbox… How do engage it to go forwards?
This is very puzzling to me…
