vhgmcbuddyMemberRay what I did was use a open ended spanner and ratchet when undoing the bolts and the roller was in situ.so I assumed which was wrong that I would put it back together the way it was undone. BUT does not work like that as I have found. so I now have some different ways to tackle the job and now I think it will go back with ease.

vhgmcbuddyMemberI’ve used blu tack to hold nuts in spanners, stuck nuts on wire with Aroldite.
Had to grovel to the wife on a few ocasions with her smaller fingers. But I recon you know most off the tricks John.February 3, 2014 at 4:57 am #5651
vhgmcbuddyMemberJust tried to mount the engine yesterday and come across a slight problem. The rear engine bolts nearest the rear roller do not allow you to get your fingers in to hold the nuts. Even with a ring key its awkward as they fall through the spanner.Looks very much as if the drive roller will have to be removed UNLESS some body can come up with an alternative. Phil your big 34 inch will probably be the same so I thought I would pre warn you because this is bad design by ATCO and they should be spanked for this. ARGHHHHHHHH.

vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks for the responses. Yes, it is an Onan engine. Does anybody know who supplies Onan spares in this country?
According to the serial number on the tractor chassis it was manufactured in 1986. Fortunately they are still manufactured in the US (made by Ingersoll) but not available in the UK.
Ray – thanks for link. I will send them an email to see if they can supply spares to the UK. I’ll have a look at the engine and get a serial number for that to see if engine spares can be UK sourced (I’m sure they can, just haven’t found it yet!).
Again, if anybody knows of these machines in the UK please let me know!
Some more photos for you all.
Cheers,
Kevin
