On flicking through the latest magazine I was surprised to see on page 13 an image that purported to be a 1951 Lawnmower made by Indian Motorcycles.
It is actually a scratch-built mower made from scrap in around 2016 by a guy in the USA.

Yes always liked that design with great colours, although those we have are more hand bill size, a colleague does have one 12in x 9in approx., interested to know the size of yours?
As to the date, there is a clue as it states 10,000 sold, so that puts it at 1875 rather than 1869.

We have just finished a full strip down & rebuild to preserve this interesting cultivator. Manufactured by Whitman Barnes, patented in 1898, featuring the adjuster to enable the width of operation to be easily changed. Seen here witted with Weed Cutters, other attachments included, ploughs, rakes & leaf guards.

We are presently working on this recently acquired rather unusual mower conversion . Its a 1930’s 12in Qualcast Panther push mower fitted with a 1933 Stuart Turner water-cooled engine. Recently uncovered some information on this hedge trimmer, patented in 1932 by E Hole & Co, Millwrights of Sussex.Powered by a Villiers air cooled engine, weighing 1.5cwt & priced at £33 10s. I would be interested to know if anyone has ever come across this machine, or has any further information.

Its made by Suffolk Iron Foundries whilst hard to see in your image look above the ‘I’ in PERFECTION & I you will see the SIF logo. Not seen one of these but its virtually the same as the Suffolk ‘Eden’ first produced late 1930’s, I have seen parts list for the Eden 1947 which has exactly the same distinctive handles as yours.The…[Read more]

Can anyone give any more information on this sprayer W.Weeks & Son Maidstone, almost complete apart from the lead having been stripped out & hose etc missing.
