vhgmcbuddyMemberWell, I think that I have now got the answer regarding the Autoculto “Junior” The donor has posted me the book that his father had with the machine from new, and it is the Standard Autoculto “Autogardener” instruction book, together with a well used copy of the Villiers manual for the Mk15 engine dated 1956, which engine it seems was used for both models.I now need a few bits to bolt on, like a Tarpen adapter and a cultivator frame etc.

vhgmcbuddyMemberRichard – I contacted Case Garden Tractor Parts a couple of weeks ago. They quoted me shipping costs of $60 for a 6lb package. I’m trying to work out how much stuff that gets me!! I was thinking of ordering the air filter assembly (missing on my tractor), some lights and other bits and bobs.

vhgmcbuddyMemberI have downloaded a Brochure of the Autogardener from Jims site, and, by a lucky coincidence, the very nice man who donated this Auto culto “Junior” rang today to tell me he has now found the Instruction manual and parts list, which he is posting to me, So, That should answer a few questions, Will let you know, I am also sure that my “Junior also has reverse, but it is down the barn at the moment, will report back.

vhgmcbuddyMember`Hi Darren, been watching your project with great interest eing an Atco enthusiast myself.
Think you’ve made a great job of the restoration, you spend more on them than me a Yorkshire skinflint can afford.
Anyway I used one of this model in the 60’s and many other Atco’s but I never recall the ident tags as being anything other than shiny brass (at least when they were new)
Of course I could be wrong as I never recall them being that particular green though I know that you researched and souced the colour thoroughly.
I suppose after 50 years the memory plays tricks.
Anyway I admire your dedication (and understanding wife).
Best Wishes. KeithFebruary 9, 2014 at 9:56 pm #5804
vhgmcbuddyMemberWell, I sent an email to Cummins/Onan last Monday with a general enquiry but, to date, received no response. So I might try with a phone call sometime soon. Seems to be a host of support in the US but not a lot over here.
I tried the link that Ray (hilsider) provided and contacted the vendor for an idea of shipping costs and they charge $60 (£45-ish) for a 6lb package so I might have to get a shopping list together.
In the meantime, if anybody has any bright ideas…

vhgmcbuddyMemberThat is very interesting Kevin, I am now wondering if there ever was a different manual for the “Junior”, or weather they just supplied the “Autogardener” manual for both? I have an incomplete Scythe attachment for the Autoculto, with original blue paint and label, and from what I have seen the “Autogardener” was painted blue when new, but the “Junior “was painted yellow, It seems to me that this Scythe attachment will fit both machines, I wonder if they supplied a different parts list for both machines? The Rotorvator on the “Junior” is only 12″ it must be wider on the “Autogardener” ? as you say, very well built machines. Regards

vhgmcbuddyMemberSorry for the short reply catfish. I was rushing this morning to go out. I remember using one years ago. You file the old glue off the cue, then glue a new tip on then push the cue though to the end stop and tighten in the tool until it sets.

vhgmcbuddyMemberThis may seem a long shot I know Case no longer exist as a functioning name in the UK but I did at one time deliver Case Tractors for a living Try your Local Case (New Holland ) tractor dealer for spares Some of them did sell the Garden tractors too, for Equine use etc You never know .
Friend of mine asked in his local Ford Tractor dealership aand got a wheelbarrow full of bits #for the 1210 (Iseki ) Ford just a thought .

vhgmcbuddyMemberhi kev the brass ring is for holding tight i think the file is to level off but not sure wot its a strange curio
February 8, 2014 at 10:29 pm #5771
vhgmcbuddyMembera long shot but it looks like it could go in the end of a pipe/tube then when the other end is pulled it spreads in the pipe to secure it. like you would use to lay pipe through a mole tunnel for cables or irrigation…….. like i say a long shot??? not sure where the file comes in though. it might also hold something in the centre and you tap down the brass ring to tighten it??
