ParticipantHi there.
Most of the tractor related magazines have ‘whats on’ sections, most tractor orientated shows also cater for Horticultural exibits. As Charlie says all members receive the ‘Cultivator’ magazine which lists shows recommended by members.

ParticipantHi there Linric
Charlie is correct, judging by your photo you have the 360 degree crank, therefore 35 degrees BTDC.

I think I have a handbook somewhere for a dragon, is there something specific you need to know?

ParticipantHello there Angus.
The Ferodo manual of 1956 quotes part No 20196 Ferodo belt No V350. cost seven shillings and fourpence. That is for series 1V with Villiers 4stroke engine. Not sure if this helps.

ParticipantIt is definitely a Four Seasons scrubcutter made by the Standard Insulator co of Camberley.
The early ones had no jockey pulley clutch to disengage the drive to the cutter, this made starting the machine a bit of a nightmare! difficult to hold the blade off the ground while pulling the starting rope. The later ones did have a clutch which made things safer.
I think they did feature on the old website. I will look to see if I have a leaflet as I did restore mine last Year. probably worth looking in one of the Brian Bell books.Chris

ParticipantHello craigfal123
I suggest you try Jon Cruse, at The Mower Centre, Vicarage Road, Hailsham, East Sussex.
He has a website I think it is googled at ‘the mower cemtre’ He makes up cables from patterns in stock or by copying your own old cable.well worth a try.

ParticipantThey are a useful little machine, I have one hiding under the bench in the barn, alas, no manual to offer you. Try the ‘Old lawnmower club’ site.

ParticipantI remember my Father used to take the fruit grower & Market gardener, there were stacks of them in the old office, sadly they were all burnt many years ago.
Where are all the Malvern photos, there are usually masses of them posted by now!!

ParticipantI well remember in Sussex that when it was East Sussex River Board, they had two Priestman draglines that were in constant use all Year dredging out rivers and in some cases fairly small ones, to keep the water flowing. But when the Environment agency took over, that all stopped, which must contribute to todays problems, apart from the Environment Agency sanctioning planning consent on flood plain and other unsuitable sites.

ParticipantThank you Andrew.
Garfitts have them on the shelf at £17 odd plus VAT.
I was most surprised.
