    Couldn’t find any crank wear at-all. Hopefully, carefully positioning the back plate and the coil mountings has cured the fouling problem as well.

    Gents, thanks for your comments. Had another serious look and found that the Governor on the flywheel was partially seized. Got it all working and it seems to have cured the problem. Starts first pull now. Just need to sort the carb out now before I set to and start stripping and painting.

    Better not be the coil, its brand new! I’ll be striping it down today so I’ll test the coil anyway.

    Could be your coil had packed up? New one is easily got, I found one on ebay just be sure you compare dimensions as there was two sizes available.

    I think I set the points gap on mine @12 thou, seems to run fine at that.

    Hi,

    I have a PDF for an 85 showing Attachments but I have yet to Restore as I have just finished a Shay Rotogardner 80 I think it’s the same engine as the Landmaster 80

    Hello Charlie thankyou for replying. All attachments are working just wondering about maintenance to keep them in good working order. I thought maybe greasing but not sure which grease to use.
