Should work as you will be turning down outer diameter and not inner which is where the shaft turns. Something in my memory says you need to be careful about turning oilite bushes on the bearing face, I think it can affect its oil retaining properties.

I am surprised it is not a standard size. Have a look at this one, you could perhaps use two with the os diameter turned down to 15/16

Is it a model 5? Looks like makers plate is on front cover so should say. Nice to find one restored.

I know Geo Monro exported a few Rototillers to Norway also.

For an age related plate they do need a more specific date, a range of years means they cannot give an age related plate. Ideally a day of manufacture would be the answer, which I thought could be derived from the B7S engine number.
