Memberthat was quick,heres what it says engine serial no 140680 Mark C25.17. 01 well done you where right. any quirky bits on the machine ? I noticed the left hand grip was right angled and the other side was like most others.

I have managed to release the pulley. I made a wooden cradle and using a drift tapped out the steel shaft. Easy with a little thought!
I can now see the offending article – BS20 1 5/8″ bush is quite worn. It looks like it should be captive in the case which would hold the input shaft in place (DA1496Q). The fact is that it is so worn that it just slides in and out.
Any suggestions – replace, roe manufacture, is there a repair?

As Andy says its not a MK40. My money on MK20 as I had one of these which I removed the engine & scrapped the rest!!

MemberThat is indeed a beast John, the spec plate should tell you what flavour of Villers you have, (if its got one) that would look grand with a Tarpen drive on it…

To those of you who have not visited Millbrook Garden Centre before, as you walk in the entrance you will walk through the seating area and the cafe, to the right of the pay desk is a short flight of stairs which go up to “The Loft”, we will be up there and the VHGMC banner will be in the window.

MemberIf it’s not been used much it might be an idea to give it a few more runs to see if it improves, nice if it did. If not look up compression test diesel on You Tube.
