vhgmcbuddyMembereBay, did return his number, he got back exactly what he did to me, plus no names mentioned I had a friend who works shifts give him an early morning alarm call in the early hours a few times. I have registered with tps, however He filled out the forms requesting a call.
I’ve got BT call guardian on my phone so I simply blocked all numbers from manchester( where he comes from), London, all the call centre numbers plus withheld numbers. As an added bonus it means keris nan( who suffers from dimentia ) can’t keep ringing up 4-5 times a week about getting Keris hair cut, lol.May 18, 2017 at 1:14 pm #25308
vhgmcbuddyMemberhi all , just a reminder that 2017 biddenden Tractorfest is the 19/20th august, with a southeast wheel horse roundup ( around 20 so far) and a ransomes theme, and other manufacturers, so far around 70 entries with plenty of room for more so if you have not yet entered and would like to then please pm me, many thanks

vhgmcbuddyMemberAlan’s concern are real, that’s why on the other forum I’ve put no more than Herefordshire for my location. Also I keep a hotmail account just for giving out to people if I’m in any doubt. Unfortunately it’s a sign of the times that we live in.
The other thing I’ve had issues with is eBay, a few months ago I left negative feedback for somebody who was basically a con artist. He then requested my phone number off eBay which they gave him and I started getting calls late at night and off ppi companies etc.
Since this incident I’ve changed my number on eBay to a sex line, something we should perhaps all consider doing if they are just going to hand it out to anyone that asks?May 18, 2017 at 1:04 pm #25306
vhgmcbuddyMemberAlso worth considering is the engine burning oil? As oil burns hotter than petrol and maybe removing the heat treatment?

vhgmcbuddyMemberThank,s for the info Boys, B….R ! should have paid more attention before I parted with my cash! Still I will rig the tank back up and see what kind of a runner it is, if at all, and then think what I can use it for, I will take off the cowling and see if it has any marks to idenify the maker. This is the box of bits that came with it, looks like clutch shoes etc. etc

vhgmcbuddyMemberDad’s had the machine for near enough 50 years and it’s always done it.
He’s been assured that the valves he’s buying are correct and of OE quality – but who knows given the age of any new old stock spares!Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the JAP engine on a clifford is quite different to those fitted to a trusty – perhaps it’s a fault only found on the Clifford engine variant.
He’s talking to someone at the moment about “competition” spec valves as used in the old JAP powered speedway bikes as apparently they’ll fit.I just wondered if anyone else had ever had the issue.

vhgmcbuddyMemberThank you all for your help, I have retimed the magneto, Interesting, I have two Howard Gem handbooks for the BJ engine, and also the Wico instruction sheet on this magneto, and all three instructions on timing are different! It is running well and I have delayed stripping the carb until I can try out the machine rotervating, Rain has stopped play at the moment, but will report back when it dries out. Regrds Plonker

vhgmcbuddyMemberYes the engine is dated April 1978, so still 39 years old. Ive dug a late 1960’s briggs out of my shed, so will be using most of that for the rebuild.
