It would be interesting to see a photo of the set up you have on your machine.

Looking at your photo and the diagrams I posted I would say it is a HJR type gearbox.
Are the parts you need information about numbered 38, 39 and 40 in the diagram? If so they are the operator plunger. To set plunger it should be screwed home and then unscrewed half a turn to ensure plunger engages in V slots in the operator (part 47) correctly. Screwdriver slot lies in the same plain as head of plunger.

The taper needle is adjustable to get the correct fuel/air mix, the files attached below detail carb overhaul and set up.

As far as I know the cam profile did not change.
A photo of the whole points set up, with flywheel removed, would help us see what might be wrong. (I know removing flywheel then retiming the engine is a pain). I have attached a file showing the layout of the points, which I am sure is the same on the Allen Scythe engine.
Have you tried slackening off the points fixing screw and moving adjuster?

You need to compress the photo files as they are too large, there is a 4MB max size limit. See the following forum topic for hints how to do this https://vhgmc.co.uk/forums/topic/compressing-photo-files-using-ms-office-picture-manager/

Do you know which model of Albion gearbox it is. I have information for both the HR and HJR both are 3 speed and reverse gearboxes.

Carefully rubbing away layers of paint to reveal lettering is something those restoring ex military vehicles often have to do.

A photograph of the whole engine would help identify it and what magneto it has.

If I put another one on top would it stick? I don’t know as I have never tried.

Unfortunately you are right, the transfer is the wrong way round.

Going from memory I don’t think the capacity is given.Fill the main gearbox till level is reached on long dipstick. Use a non EP oil such as Morris Oils AG140. Owners manual gives details of checking oil is getting to worm gear assuming it is a machine with oil pump.
