Its that time of the year again when we all start thinking about the Weeley working weekend. September 17th and 18th.
I went down to the farm today and had a chat with David and Chris. The field is very hard cos of lack of rain but Chris has offered to put some cultivators over it and loosen it up for us so we may be able to have a ploughing match or scratch. Hopefully the same format as previous years with the ploughing and the ladies furrow drawing on Saturday also the junior event.
Saturday evening the barby and prize giving. Then on Sunday morning the ramble round the farm led out by Dave. There now lots of animals to view including pigs, sheep, goats, highland cattle alpacas and as of this week two rea and lots of guinipigs. Also for the young and not so young there is a maize maze. It must be good cos Chris got lost in it last week. As the camp field is very dry I am sure that I do not have to remind you all to be very careful with barbys etc cos we do not want to have a fire problem. So there it is just turn up and have a social weekend meeting old friends and above all have fun.

Looking forward to it, see you on the 17th!Joe
August 21, 2022 at 7:53 am #39771trusty220KeymasterOne thing you forgot to mention, Dave- the event is not open to the public. All paid up club members are invited to attend but we have to abide by the landowner’s (and the insurance company’s) wishes and so this is a “closed” event for club members only.
Sorry to put a dampener on it for all you non-members!
Oh, as a footnote:- Some people get confused with club membership and membership of this forum. Forum membership alone does not give you access to club events. A yearly subscription to the club is what is needed. Sorry!

August 22, 2022 at 6:50 am #39791charlieKeymasterI will bring a copy of the current membership list so we can confirm attendees are paid up club members.

ahead. The Queen was a great lover of country life and we are sure that she would want us
to carry on with our event.
See you all at Weeley.September 16, 2022 at 1:19 pm #39961trusty-madParticipantSeptember 19, 2022 at 8:10 am #39970charlieKeymasterAnother great weekend as usual, thank you to all involved in organising and thank you to all that attended.
September 19, 2022 at 8:22 am #39972daveParticipantThanks Charlie. A full report of the weekend is being typed at the moment ready for the Cultivator. Many thanks to all who attended and helped
