Mine arrived today.
Nice to see some photos from Weeley (I was too busy making dust to take any myself!)
The Anzani is missing her bonnet in the photo as it was so hot, she was getting a bit warm, so went topless for the weekend!. -

Does anyone know the correct specs’ (load, gauge etc) for Anzani iron horse clutch springs?
Or know of a source for replacements? -

Is the club planning to have a stand at South Cerney again this year?.
If yes, who do I need to contact to enter an exhibit?
Thanks,
Joe. -

It was a great show, and the stand really did the club proud!.
I think Charlie deserves a special thank you, I was there Saturday and everytime I walked past he was on duty.
Hopefully I will be a bit more organised next year and will bring something to put on the stand. -

Are you looking at an Allen purely for budget reasons? Or is the ground not suitable for full size tractor?
There is bound to be an enthusiast locally with a fergie/dexta type tractor and a finger bar mower who would be willing to have a day ‘playing’.
What do you do about fluffing and windrowing the cut grass?.
Another option may be to contact…[Read more] -

Thanks for the info.
I’d read about the governor issue, but have to admit I thought that was regarding earlier engines.
I believe the condenser was removed along with the points, will check later.
I do find magnetos a bit of a black art, and finding the module flummoxed me a bit, the Internet seems split between them being the best thing since…[Read more] -

Hi all,
I’ve just acquired an Allen scythe, model TS with the Villiers 25C 2 stroke engine.
I’m missing a spark at the moment, removed the flywheel to find its been fitted with a Nova2 ignition module.
Are the any checks/adjustments that can be done on the module, do I just replace the module, or do I refit the original points (which I…[Read more] -

Looks like a two-man manual pump, most
probably fire service, although missing the coupling, the outlet looks the right size for a fire hose.
Nice little bonus piece!. -

For no 3, I’m going for Malmesbury in Wiltshire. Eilmer the flying monk who leapt off the Abbey roof with homemade wings in 1005ad.
There are no records as to where Eilmer was born. -

Haven’t seen anything like that for a while!
Not sure about moles, usually you would use something like that to flush rats out to the waiting terriers.
The internals of the engine are probably going to be a gunky mess as you would add a few drops of oil to the fuel to get the required smoke!. -
joegrgraham replied to the topic Club insurance question in the forum Help and information 3 years, 12 months ago
As far as I know, if the machine was designed to be ridden on, eg a ride-on mower, you do need rta insurance to use it in a place where public have access (at a show/rally).
I insured my ransomes mg2 with NFU, can’t remember the exact details, but it was a decent public liability cover, theft etc, for £60 for the year. -

From my own personal point of view, the whole thing has been positive.
The first lockdown gave me time to completely stop, reassess and reset.
I reconnected with my family, and I realised that I needed to be a lot more self-sufficient, (some would say I’ve gone feral!).
To that extent, I started my own business back in the summer, and I’ve now…[Read more] -

A quick Google shows that the company were also know as Braune of Stroud, and Batricar Ltd.
The main business, certainly in the mid 70s was inavlid/mobility cars. They seem to have had a reasonable presence in the USA.
For interest, Griffin Mill is now an antique centre, an artist studio and a paint manufacturer. - Load More
