The VHGMC now has a Facebook group.
Search for Vintage Horticultural and Garden Machinery Club and please join the group.
The group can be used to post videos and photos of machines and displays either at home or at shows. Links to shows, rallies and ploughing matches/working days with a Horticultural presence are welcome and the admin team will also use the group to further promote Club events and shows where the club stand is present.
There will be NO sales/wants ads allowed on the Facebook group, please continue to send sales/wants to the editor for publication in The Cultivator.
The group is intended to be another string to the clubs bow, and to work alongside the Forum, so please continue to use this platform for all of your technical enquiries etc.
    Many Thanks,
    Joe (F/B group admin).

Sorry to hear of the passing of Ray Smith from Cheddar, I was told today that he had passed away.

Ray was the top man when it came to Mayfield products, if fact he owned and restored several rare models over the years, an displayed them at many shows. Ray was also involved in putting on the club display at RHS Wisley back in the 90s, this was one of the best displays the club has ever been involved with. RIP Ray you were a true Gentleman.

I will echo that sentiment as well, Chris. He was always ready to help when we used to show at The American Museum in Bath and was always on the other end of the ‘phone if a member needed help or information about Mayfield. He will be sadly missed.

    RIP Ray

A true gentleman and a fountain of knowledge not only with Mayfield products but was a highly respected member of The Small Holders Society, his interests spread far to include buildings of antiquity abroad, he will be sadly missed by our team here at The Hall & Duck Trust.
