charlieKeymasterDon’t think I have seen one with a stand before, more they usually have a counter weight to keep handle upright.

charlieKeymasterHave not seen any of the articles in person (too tight to buy a newspaper) but a work colleague did ask if I had seen it and he was amazed at the size of the mower.

charlieKeymasterI believe it is a lifetime season ticket. Will hitch up trailer and arrange a raid, visit. I guess Mr Wallingfield will be looking for help repacking everything.

charlieKeymasterI would hope anyone entering would have found out where the show is before sending off entry form.

charlieKeymasterSorry no idea of phone number, try e mail from previous link, contact is under information tab. Like any RTC today it is always handy to get the mobile phone out and capture the incident and perpetrators on camera.

charlieKeymasterAndrew, this incident raises a number of questions eg how old were they and what insurance cover. The rally field is deemed to be a ‘public place’ under the Road Traffic Act 1988. For contact details see Lister Auto Truck Club website.
This incident is also a reminder to all exhibitors of their responsibility regarding who operates machinery. Letting anyone operate a machine which is known to be defective will only result in severe penalties if and when things go wrong.August 5, 2014 at 7:26 am #9549
charlieKeymasterMight be worth looking at The Green Spark Plug Co website

charlieKeymasterOld adverts are a great source of information, often more interesting than the articles in the magazines. The style of the adverts also show a bit of social history, eg changing fashion styles.I started my apprenticeship with what was then Post Office Telecommunications (now BT) in 1973 with a weekly wage of £13.99 if I remember correctly.

charlieKeymasterThere are a number of club members both sides of the border in Ireland so it should be possible to get a few more, especially if you have a dedicated section. It sounds as if you are where we were some years ago on the mainland, gradually organisers have realised we have something to offer as a dedicated section. Thanks for sharing the photos.

charlieKeymasterI dont think all colours have a RAL number, there are a number of different colour codes eg Pantone, some have a BS number, so not an easy job. A good start would be list make and model of machine, colour and any known code with perhaps a note to say code was arrived at eg sample of paint scanned. Colours will not come true from photograph. A simple table on a word document or an Excel spreadsheet will do.

charlieKeymastervegikev, a good idea all it needs is someone to volunteer to run and manage it and members to supply the relevant information.

charlieKeymasterDan, welcome to the forum, I remember Dave well, yes he was one of the founding members of this club, member number 1. I visited Dave and Brenda on numerous occasions. The machine with the Villiers engine and sign is an Auto Culto if I remember correctly this one was a works demo machine, I am sure one of the other founding members will confirm this. If you want to sell any of the surplus items you can always put an advert in the club magazine The Cultivator. I am sure I have a photo of your sister with the Barford and trailer at the club weekend held at Woodborough.
