By your above post , it would suggest a blockage , have it cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Dave , surprisingly a vast number of spares for JLO are still available from Germany , so all may not be lost.
I’m at present working on a Sachs , and so far have managed to source all parts I needed.

If your machine has stood for a long time rust may well have formed on the pulleys ,hence the “grabbing” you can either clean them by hand , or 20mins working it the machine should put things right.
This of course is assuming you have the correct belt fitted.

Enjoy this great hobby , like your thoughts , all my machines have to start and do a days work.
I’ve just rebuilt a BSA 120 on a Demon , now starts first pull and runs like a clock.
One thing you will find , all on here have an enormous wealth of knowledge , on a vast array of machines , that they are all very willing to share.

Your coil needs to be tested using a proper ignition tester , multimeters and the like are no good for testing coils.

Have you had the coil tested , 120cc components were Lucas , and generally very reliable , never be put off by the visual appearance of a coil , testing it would be my first course of action.

Charlie , before you start trying to remove them , if you know anybody with an ultrasonic cleaner try that route first , they really are amazing bits of kit.

I can’t seem to enlarge the pics , but the smaller one looks very much a Model O , 34cc , the bigger one is a model 80 80cc.

the variable jet is handy if you have slight wear in the butterfly , you can simply richen the mixture accordingly.
Very good secondhand carbs come up for sale very frequently on that certain auction site , I would never consider buying new , remember this carb was fitted to huge range of engines , and indeed quite a few full size tractors.

It’s simply not worth the hassle , the 24T2 was far and away the best carb fitted , and ALL parts are now so readily available , at very reasonable coinage.
Only one modification I would make is doing away with the fixed jet, and fitting a variable one.

Got it also , she said she may have something of interest for me !! , I don’t suppose she collects Simars by any chance.

Joe , it’s difficult to say without actually “being there” , but I am from the school that taught me that the vast majority of carb issues are more often than not electrical.
