vhgmcbuddyMemberIf it’s the non chunky type tyres then cam belts turned inside out and bonded into place with a good contact adisive make a good alternative, allmost indistinguishable from the original.try your local garage they will probably have loads of removed old ones.

vhgmcbuddyMemberWow thank you all so much for your help. I am now 99% sure that it is a 200.
One other thing, when I ran it the other week the tyres kept saying coming off. They are not in the best of condition anyway. Any idea where I can buy new ones from?
Thanks once again

vhgmcbuddyMemberFrom left to right in the above photo you’ve got a Bulldog, a Bullfinch,a demon, a 200( later type with chunkier tyres) and a 220.

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi all had the same gearbox and rear end etc,the bulldog was introduced in 1954, then in 1955 the name was changed to bullfinch after legal action from lanz. Both had the jap 2a fitted. In 1957 the demon was added, fitted with a BSA 120 cc engine. In 1961 the 200 was introduced with the villiers mk 10 then very quickly afterwards the mk 12. At some point in production the tyres were changed for a more chunkier type. The final version had the aspera htb 35 and was called the 220. I believe it was made 1972-77. The handles on this one could be offset like the bantam’s.
If the original engine is missing then stand in the operating position. The bullfinch/ demon etc had the tilt mechanism on the left and the 200/220 had it on the right.April 11, 2016 at 3:44 pm #20501
vhgmcbuddyMemberHi. Thanks for you reply. I will struggle with the photo ads I stripped it down last night to give it a full going over. Its definitely not a bantam its either a bullfinch or a 200. Any idea where the serial number would be?
Thanks

vhgmcbuddyMemberAh… interesting…. How does that work, all I’ve ever done with the 24T2 on my working engine is set limits for the governor and messed around with the slow running…. why would I need a variable main jet?…. The issue I have with the 24T2 is that I might have to get a new carb for one of my engines, and a BNOS 24T2 is around 160 quid, a chinese copy of the Honda carb is less than a tenner delivered…

vhgmcbuddyMemberLikewise, I had this message. i’m sure if I had replied it wouldn’t of been long until they would of requested bank details.

vhgmcbuddyMemberMany thanks to Charlie for his help with manuals. I have replaced the main bearings and seals and have got the beast to start. It does not run well I suspect because the Amal carb is flooding. I have tried to clean needle and seat but still floods. The float looks good so I gues I need to dress the needle and seat but I am unsure about how to go about that. Any ideas please ?
Thanks

vhgmcbuddyMemberHello Peter, Stanfield is somewhat of distance for me so if you could drop the booklet into the post it would be very much appreciated. I am happy to Paypal across a little something for the post if need be. If you txt your name across to 07748 300820 I will txt back my address, rather then just leave it on the forum, as I have just had a spam “Hi, my name is Monica” type email from the site.
Note to forum moderator (Charlie) – please delete member “weah” from the forum. It don’t need foreign offers of friendship, thanks

vhgmcbuddyMemberYes, but his email is up the duff ATM and the contact form is basically a redirect to that…
