Looking at the photos I can see the horticultural display was very good, I like the use of trellis and boxes of fruit etc, as Geoff said well done to all involved. It is a pity the date clashes with one of my regular shows otherwise I would be coming along too.
James, it may be worth contacting Hayter to see what information or parts they may have. I have a very early Hayterette circa 1959 with a Villiers 7F two stroke engine.The Hayterette is still in production.Hayter
Like they say most fuel problems are electrical! Glad to hear it is running again. Oddly enough when my Simar 56 started giving trouble at Semington I discovered the electrical problem was in fact fuel related.
Tig welding may work but there are a few bits missing.
Alan, thanks for reminding me about foundry at Bridport, they had a traction engine at West Bay Rally. The expensive part will be making the pattern I expect.
The machine is now safely home and under cover. Closer inspection and some dismantling reveal engine is seized solid, the damage to cylinder water jacket is worse than photos show and drive casing for rotavator is broken. Has anybody any experience of getting one off castings made?
I will start a new topic in projects section with photos and notes on progress.
The owner has contacted me and the remains are coming to me. I will then be able to see just how bad the damage is rather than just what can be seen in the photo. More updates when I have it home.
This story has taken a very sad and unfortunate turn. Whilst in transit on a trailer from Welland the Rototiller fell off the trailer and is now looking like it is beyond repair all involved are gutted.
