charlieKeymasterI am sure a good belt supply company could work out what you need. Have a word to see what information they need eg pulley diameter, distance centre t centre, belt cross section etc.

charlieKeymasterThe C25 is very similar if not the same as the older Mk25 Villiers.
Remove fuel tank and engine cowl; undo cylinder head bolts, remove cylinder head. To access valve springs remove cover on side of engine located below inlet and exhaust. To remove valves compress spring and remove collars, this can be a bit of a fiddle. Re-assembley is reverse of dismantling; to set valve clearances check exhaust with inlet fully open and check inlet with exhaust fully open before fitting valve springs. If valve clearance is too small end of valve stem can be ground or filed to increase clearance, make sure end is square and flat. Meetens may have owners manual instock, this will give details of spare parts and routine adjustments, but not a full engine rebuild guide.August 27, 2016 at 10:04 am #22142
charlieKeymasterLook forward to seeing the Ransomes display again. I will be there with a collection of Monro Tillers and the VHGMC stand. I will be staying at the Travelodge at Chievley services, too late in the year for me to camp!!

charlieKeymasterDave, that is an interesting link.

charlieKeymasterLooking at the photos I can see the horticultural display was very good, I like the use of trellis and boxes of fruit etc, as Geoff said well done to all involved. It is a pity the date clashes with one of my regular shows otherwise I would be coming along too.

charlieKeymasterRemoving the head is fairly straight forward after removing engine cowling. Valve clearances should be .006″ inlet and .010″ exhaust.

charlieKeymasterJames, it may be worth contacting Hayter to see what information or parts they may have. I have a very early Hayterette circa 1959 with a Villiers 7F two stroke engine. The Hayterette is still in production.Hayter

charlieKeymasterA great display, a nice change from the usual long line of machines.

charlieKeymasterLike they say most fuel problems are electrical! Glad to hear it is running again. Oddly enough when my Simar 56 started giving trouble at Semington I discovered the electrical problem was in fact fuel related.

charlieKeymasterTig welding may work but there are a few bits missing.
Alan, thanks for reminding me about foundry at Bridport, they had a traction engine at West Bay Rally. The expensive part will be making the pattern I expect.August 6, 2016 at 7:38 am #21825
charlieKeymasterThe machine is now safely home and under cover. Closer inspection and some dismantling reveal engine is seized solid, the damage to cylinder water jacket is worse than photos show and drive casing for rotavator is broken. Has anybody any experience of getting one off castings made?
I will start a new topic in projects section with photos and notes on progress.August 6, 2016 at 7:33 am #21824
charlieKeymasterI believe you are supposed to switch to petrol and let engine run until there is only petrol in carb, I assume you are doing this.
