The orange one looks very similar to this Mayfield one currently being offered on a certain selling site.

Thanks for this Trusty220, I will take the wheel off and have a look.
If the threads on the wheel are stripped (which I suspect is the case) – What is the fix for that?

I have the book but it doesn’t mention the Villiers mk 10 which is 98cc. Only the 120cc mk 12 introduced in 1959 and discontinued in 1960.

I haven’t a clue what engine is on it, it looks as though it’s had a sticker on it though.

I was wondering the same thing.
Is it possible to date the machine ?
Is a list of models available ?
Does anyone have information on the history of the Raven Engineering Co ?

    Regards
    Shaun

Re-assembled the clutch today having collected all the parts needed, including new bushes, split pins, copper washer, springs and shoes are re-lined.
Fitted the re-built clutch, fired up the Douglas engine on the Trusty and it worked like a dream.
Now want to turn my attention to the wheels as one has two bolts missing and I’m sure I remember somone mentioning the need for felt washers…….?

Thanks for the leaflet. It shows engine options of b&s or Villiers mk12 but mine has a mk 10, could have been replaced I suppose.

Thanks Charlie – Your advice is good as ever. Very smart Simar, I do like the look of those machines. Being quite new to restorations I am starting small with a mk1 clifford, though I do have a Trusty on the go too and am collecting my re-lined clutch shoes for that tomorrow!

Thank you – This is starting to make sense and yes wristpin, I did mean crankshaft! (I was still in Trusty mode – working on both at the moment). Thanks for the link.
Stuart, your explanation is very clear. I did have a fiddle before reading your post and managed to get some sort of spark, so must be getting close. I will now re-examine the settings to make sure I got it right.
