G’day roatavator,
Wow. Can’t thank you enough. You have just ended a 2 year search for the hand book. And the workshop manual is an added bonus that I didn’t know even existed anymore. I bought the F190 about 2 to 2 1/2 years ago in a non working state for around equivalent to 180 pounds (just fell in love with it) and slowly acquired parts for it. It starts easy, runs without missing a beat and cost a small fortune.LOL I call it the “angry pig” It is no wonder people have died from using this seriously overpowered machine. The hand book will serve as a means of controlling it a bit better. Once again THANKYOU! Hello Jim,
I have two junior models and a Autogardener, I now have the offer of a MK 1X but there is no rotorvator with it, do you know if the rotorvator from the autogardener will fit this model? as these do turn up from time to time as spares, as I have not seen any mk1X machines on offer, and its not much good without a rotorvator. Very many thanks for that offer Dave, with regard to machines to purchase I would think that spares supply may dictate choice of machine especially with regard to tyres. I have seen an Auto Culto Gardener complete with plough which might be good but I have heard that tyres for this one are all but impossible to obtain and I suspect that these may be a frequent replacement when using on fields etc

I will get back to you Charlie when I can get down the barn and check the gear lever in drive, I will have to take the wheels off to try it, or raise them off the ground, so far I have only tried it in neutral.

just print off the ploughing guide from this forum get along to a few local matches chat with the other entrants and it all becomes easier to follow. some will do lots of practice before even thinking of entering, i personally had a bit of practice then took the plunge and entered a few local matches. scored 99 of 140 for my first go. most will be very happy to give you advice on how and what to do. the most important thing is to enjoy it, not worry how good or bad you are as it will all come with practice

Many thanks for the replies,that gives me something to go on. I did want to get a Nuffield universal 3 tractor but in the end it seemed expensive for a toy and much harder to transport! Now the only problem is that I don’t know how to plough!!

Sorry for the delay, have been away, YES, the “Notchiness” feels as if gear teeth are almost engaging, and yes it is the same now I have taken the engine off, I thought at first it was something to do with the jackshaft selector, but I have taken that off and still no joy, I have tried moving all the gear selectors, and that does not help, I cant think what I have done, as I did not open the gearbox during the restoration, unless I have done something to the clutch shaft.?

Hi all
an excellent 2 days and for me only a fields walk away from home!
Very interested in the ploughing and now considering a machine to take part with next year. I am looking at two wheel walk behind so apart from the anzani and trustys that were there what else would be suitable, any info most welcome. Are there any more working events or matches coming up?

….made some progress this afternoon on the first clean of the outside of the bucket and a start on some of the brass….

It does resemble the Mysto No 6 – photo attached – apart from the direction of the lever/spray assembly and handle. As the chrome is a little chipped in places I can see the base material is brass.

It never stops does it? it took me hours to refit the engine single handed, and then I found the Gear box has become so “Notchy” that I cant turn it quick enough to spin the engine fast enough to fire it! also the clutch is slipping, so taken the engine back off and removed the clutch and will have to fit stronger springs, the manual says 30 ft lb of torque, but that would just close the springs , leaving no movement for the clutch to release, also need to find out why I have made the gear box “Notchy” in my restoration! Ah Well.
