vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Stuart. Not sure if you looked at my pictures posted above. The silencer itself looks as if it was part of the exaust collector that goes straight to the engine block. This would be a tad surprising as the whole unit would have to be replaced. Have tried the popular auction site without success. I could get the unit shipped to my works HQ in Michigan and collect during my next visit as long as I find the unit itself (hillsider was going to help source the part once I had confirmed the tractor serial number).
Question: Would any spare silencer do if I manage to get it connected or does it have to be the correct part designed for that purpose?? Thanks again.July 14, 2014 at 8:17 pm #9247

vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks again Geoff. The Trusty is about 90% complete. Just have to make the throttle linkages, the countershaft brake linkage and some of the missing bits on the drawbar. Oh and put some decals on!!
I recently visited the Woollas residence to collect a miller cover for my Simar 56, which Steve had so generously offered to me. I did wonder at the time why his good lady looked so pleased to see me, that was until I saw the garden and then realised that she was just glad that I was there to take something away!!!July 14, 2014 at 3:07 pm #9240
vhgmcbuddyMemberGentlemen, I now have the requested information (it was on a small plate by the blade guard).
Model: TTZ18AR
Serial Number: 3137W01283
Could you possibly help me source a replacement? Many thanks for your bother help and support.July 13, 2014 at 10:41 pm #9238

vhgmcbuddyMemberThank you Charlie, I still cant see any sign of the rubber plug! I will take the camera down the barn and put up a photo, someone may recognise it, I will put an advert in the Cultivator for some steel wheels for it as it is running on car wheels at the moment, Owen has also given me a tip for the manual, one day it will all come together! Regards Plonker

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Chris,
Thanks for your post. It was not difficult to take it apart!! Found all the bits of teeth in the bottom of the oil………. I am in Devizes, Wiltshire but I think I have managed to source a large gear wheel from Villiers but want to speak with them on Monday just to make sure we are talking about the same thing!
Have you any ideas why this may have happened? Could I have been asking it to do too much – I am clearing a patch of land with large docks and thistles?
Kind regards,
