The serial number is 560763. If anyone have a register that can give me the date of production I would be very happy.

    Thanks/

Well they wouldn’t supply a small qty, the MOQ was 28 tonnes!

That will be good ….good to know they had 7hp fitted..it means i will not have to nurse it with 6.5hp…it looks a 1/2 tidy machine..it was sold as having a gearbox problem but when i ring the man it sounded like a slipping clutch and this morning noted that it has no free play in the clutch so may only need adjusting only problems i see at this stage is a slightly misaligned engine and drive chain too long and a bodged sprocket(the sprocket is bolted/welded to a V pulley ) also excessive play in the gear stick ..i was unable to find a neutral to load it

That’s what I thought, I’ve been told it has been discontinued, the only problem is I don’t think there’s any ship yards left in scotland!

    Hi tump
Thanks for letting me know that you had a look at the video of my 700 working.

The blades on the 700 are the same as the Gem. You mention the air cleaner is yours original and is it in good order as I had to change my one and made one from a cut down lorry air cleaner.
I did put an article onsite at the time with the details. I will need to lookup the info again.
    Thanks Myosotis

    Problem Solved

C161 collected yesterday after it served a lovely family for 35 yrs. It has been lovingly maintained and stored all that time, and apart from one or two small adjustment jobs is ready to work!

The difference in the feel of power between the C161 and the Commando is significant. I was fortunate enough to be given two cleated tractor style tyres with the tractor, so once fitted today I will take it for a first trip to the woods.

Photos below we’re sent to me by the previous owners, who by the way still have an excellent Raider with cultivator attached for sale…see Feb issue of The Cultivator for details….if only I had a bigger shed!

I need some replacement tynes for my 700. Can anyone confirm that these are the same as for the Gem?

I would also like the pipe that links the carb to the air cleaner. Any idea who could supply this part?

    Thanks,
    Ray
