Hi
My web site is now vintagesprayers.uk. The old web site remains available for the time being but is not being updated. The 4 publications which now replace the old site can be downloaded from http://www.vintagesprayers.uk. The publications continue to be corrected and added to as new information comes to light with the latest version being August…[Read more]

Hi
Many thanks for your comments. Without the inspiration of your web site I would not have pursued my interest in sprayers, so I am very grateful to you. My my concern is that the information I have gathered is not lost.
Thank you.
Mike

As Alan thought, I can confirm that Wikeham is linked with the Boundary Chemical Co. Liverpool. The Field 1903 mentions that it can be obtained directly from this company as well as from retailers. A major retailer seems to have been Dicksons of Royal Avenue Belfast. Also sold by the Army and Navy Coop. Probably Killet was a trade name used by…[Read more]

I have now completed the first stage of moving the information I hold on sprayers from my web based system to a pdf files. I have attempted to include all the information I have in the document which can be downloaded from the home page http://www.vintagegardensyringesprayers.info. This is still work in progress and correction and new information…[Read more]

Does anyone have a Crossland and Wood (Citadel) Self Supplying sprayer (not the three way syringe) in their collection. It would look something like the attached, but I believe the handle in this picture is a replacement and not correct and would like to confirm this. Also I do not have the hose or strainer and would like to know what they were like.

Allen & Freeman Lombard Sprayer. Does any one have one of these double action sprayers. I have one, but it is incomplete and I am, therefore, not sure how it works. In particular I need a photograph of the piston.

The attached is a similar duster by Drake & Fletcher, Maidstone, Kent. There is nothing on this machine or in the literature I have seen that suggests that they used the logo on your duster, but it may be of interest.

This turns out to be a Calf Inflator or Winding Pump used in the preparation of animal carcasses. Nothing to do with garden use. It is used to pump air into a calf or other dead animal. The needle part is unscrewed and left in until ‘the flesh is firmly set’.

My web site is now as complete as it likly to be for a while. It provides access to photopgraphs of all my sprayers most of which are syringes or hand held continuous sprayers, but there are other types. I appreciate that there will be errors, and some information will not be 100 percent, and would welcome more information or comments.
Nearly all…[Read more]

This pump is a Mysto, but I am not sure what it was originally intended for. Doubt if it was for horticultural use. Works very well and could be used to empty a water feature.

I have come across two sprayers with the attached logo. One sprayer is absolutely identical to the standard RoseNJet sprayer apart from the logo. The other is a smaller version (14 X 1.25 inches), but using the principle of the RoseNJet nozzle. The larger one has the patent number for the RosNJet nozzle stamped into the barrel and because this…[Read more]

Very interesting.Any idea what it was designed to do ? It is difficult to tell from the picture. Are the attachments in the side additional nozzles or is there a reservoir there.?

Florist’s Friend is a Mysto (W.T.French’) logo. The moveable fine sprayer on 434 looks like one I have on a Mysto syringe, but not that model.

Many thanks. My interest was originally in the construction and development of the syringe sprayers, so I have a fairly large collection of unidentified sprayers. Only recently have I started to look at the manufacturers. I agree it is very difficult to identify anything which doesn’t have a mark of some sort. Not only do the ‘same’ models change…[Read more]
