charlieKeymasterA full (well at least when people can be bothered to tell me) calendar of forthcoming events appears in The Cultivator. There is no plan to include one on the forum at present. The Cultivator, (while it still exists*), will be the primary communication route with members.

charlieKeymasterJust had a look at the screw on my Barford 30 and measured thread, 12 TPI, major diameter 18.85mm minor diameter 16.66mm this is close to 3/4 BSF, but not having a tap or die that size I cannot confirm this. Air filter bowl should be obtainable from Meetens, speak to Paul as he knows all about Villiers engines. Unfortunately cannot date machine or engine from serial number, but if you have the cowling off a date may be stamped on the flywheel.

charlieKeymasterBT ran most of their small pumps and generators on propane as it was safer than petrol to carry in a vehicle and propane was already on board for gas torches.

charlieKeymasterChris, hope you get the power back soon, my thoughts are with you and the many others that had a less than perfect Christmas. We had a number of Wessex 4×4 Response volunteers out in the early hours of Christmas day evacuating residents from two mobile home caravan parks near Bournemouth and another out during the day and again today transporting a care nurse due to flooded roads. Hope the incoming weather does not cause any of you flooding or damage.

charlieKeymasterA trick i have heard of but not tried is to spray something like carb cleaner around the spindle bearing area when the engine is running, if there is excess wear it will draw the spray in and engine will pick up.

charlieKeymasterJust drop an e mail to vhgmc@btinternet.com with full details for inclusion in The Cultivator. I know Colin Hatch from my college days in Swindon.

charlieKeymasterHave you tried contacting SISIS for information, might be worth a try. It is good to see another piece of grass care machinery in preservation an area not well covered.

charlieKeymasterIs there much wear in the throttle spindle/carb, this could be allowing air in causing a weak mixture which you are compensating for by closing the choke to richen the mixture.
