charlieKeymasterAs we always say it is only worth what someone is willing to pay, put it on e-bay and see what you get.

charlieKeymasterKevin if you look back through The Cultivator I am sure George Holt had some plough points made, he is also listed on the reproduction parts suppliers list which was sent to members last year.

charlieKeymasterGood to see it running, don’t run for too long without the cowling as it will overheat.

charlieKeymasterJust had a closer look at the rotary mower and like mine it is missing the adjusting device, I had to make one.

charlieKeymasterThat is only the second rotary mower I have seen, the other is in my shed. Pity the Monro Tiller is the wrong colour but everyone to their own. The ridger is not so rare. I guess someone has bought it to use at that price, hope they have better luck with the rotary mower than I do, the belt keeps coming off.

charlieKeymasterD7er the best option is to place an ad in our club magazine The Cultivator send details to cultivator-editor@outlook.com
The other alternative is an online auction site such as e bay.May 16, 2014 at 9:12 pm #8117
charlieKeymasterAndy, I agree wholeheartedly with your comments about the ignition system. The coil on the Mk25 4 stroke on my Trusty Earthquake gave up the ghost so I renewed coil, points and condenser, it starts first time every time, £75 well spent.

charlieKeymasterI think it could be the longest palindrome in the English language.

charlieKeymasterA sad day for Patrick after all the hard work he has done over the years, a great opportunity for another magazine to take up where T&M left off. Also another good reason for people to join the VHGMC as our magazine is now the only one dedicated to our hobby. I too stopped having T&M as it felt a cheap publication with the flimsy paper they used, it was noticeable that the number of pages dedicated to F&HE reduced over the years, possibly due to lack of material.

charlieKeymasterAdrian welcome to the forum. Most flame guns run on paraffin and use methylated spirits to heat up the burner. First you will need to put paraffin in the main fuel tank, then with the fuel valve turned off pump the tank up to create pressure. The meths is used to heat the burner sufficiently to vapourise the paraffin, if the burner is not hot enough you will get a jet of burning paraffin rather than a good strong hot flame when the fuel valve is opened. I do not have instructions for the Vulcan so cannot give exact details.

charlieKeymasterMERL have in their collection drawings for the Monro Tiller and other Monro products. These were donated by the VHGMC. Other club members have also donated Mayfield information and I will be donating the old Monro publicity films I have.

charlieKeymasterHave a look on the Survivors section of the website and look up 2 wheeled Trusty where you will find a list of known surviving tractors and their dates. This will give a rough guide, Geoff will be able to give a more accurate date.

charlieKeymasterA simple way of forcing people to buy new engines and or machines, make spares unavailable. As you ay progress!!!??? Add to that a degree of built in shorter life like so many household ‘white’ goods, arghhhh.
