    I would try a carb from an old CD175 Honda twin motorcycle. I don’t know if yours was governed but the carb fitted to the CD 175 will not be governable as it has a throttle slide instead of a butterfly.

    There were some Merry Tillers in good nick there as well, One post-1971 Major with adjustable handlebars £60, next one with fixed handlebars same year and model was £50. I didn’t get them because my van battery was flat and I had to use the car. Yes, it all went in the back seat! 🙂

    Most car instruction books will tell you their preferred noseweight, I think the Ford Focus has about 110lb as their spec. easy way to measure it is get a bit of wood and a bathroom scale, put one end of the wood in the trailer ball socket and the other on the scale. Move things around on the trailer till the weight comes right!

    I’ve got a Farmer as well but its got a bulge in the top that should be on a Farmer Deluxe, this gives continuous spraying. I’ve also got a corrugated one like yours but it needs a lot of TLC….

    There was a piece in the Stationary Engine a while ago where chap used ordinary metal polish on a dull galvanized tank and it came up like new….
