MemberGot the little blighter at last ! a few delicate squirts of WD and a small loving tap or two from the Mash Hammer and I now have it parted. Thought it was not going to play ball, but persistence won the day. this now gives me the chance to start rubbing down with the fine flap wheel which I can recommend to beginers.

Memberalan i have just broken one of these as it was to far gone to do any thing with but i have the bonnet and other panels that you are welcome to if they are of any use? i must say one thing, when i got mine i stood back from it and decided this has got to be the ugliest ride-on ive ever seen and that was probaly one of the major factors why they did not catch on

MemberStrip down in rapid progress, and have now come to a halt on the clutch assembly. have looked at the parts list which I was sent yesterday, and as yet have not got it off. could be seized in the engauged position but just wanted to ask if I heat up the outer casing to expand it from the inner unit would any harm be done from inside the clutch unit ?

MemberAhh Har ! that looks like it does more than that ,but little mystery solved, thanks Angus. have not yet looked in the cover or it would have solved its self in time. going back to the shed demolition to get her under cover,i may be able to get it in if I remove grass box and the brackets which hold it in position on the main chassis.

MemberJust a thought here, would it work if an alternator was fitted with small spikes instead of a v pulley and lowered to the ground as you cut the lawn. in turn as you travelled along the alternator would rotate and a charging system would kick in. very geekish statement john.

MemberWith a mk 12 I simply set the engine to tdc then refit the flywheel with lining up the timing arrow on the flywheel with the line on the back plate then tighten the nut very tight. Never had a problem doing four stroke villiers with this method.
