vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks for the reply it is all original, the plate says Dexter hedge and shrub trimmer made by Lloyds of Letchworth there’s no plate to indicate the voltage it is putting out about 6volts but I think this is a bit low.

vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks for info, I found a Merry Tiller plate under a lot of paint but can not make out any details from it. It could well have been made from various donors over the years!!

vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks for the reply. It’s rwd going through a salisbury axle with 16″ wheels. There is no problem with the drive or gears engaging. I am struggling with getting the clutch to release/disengage. It is supposed to have a cover over the gearbox drive train but that was taken off by the previous owner so I think as it lives outside the clutch has been soaked. I think I will take it apart and give it a clean up and go from there.

vhgmcbuddyMemberWe have a similar tractor that my fathe-in-law gave to my son to drive around the garden on. It is just the bare tractor with no deck but it runs well and is in reasonable condition for its age. I’m not sure if it’s exactly the same model but I will have a look when the weather improves enough to get in the garage

vhgmcbuddyMemberOnly just noticed this post, But there is a 150 Landmaster for sale on that auction site, It has the original engine by the look of it, it is a J.A.P. and seems to be a two stroke, the advert says that it is 4 HP I dont know what 2 stroke japs were made in that HP . At the time that machine was sold J.A.Prestwich had been sold to Villiers who carried on making them for a while, I have a 150 myself, but fitted with a later B&S engine.

vhgmcbuddyMemberLooks very nice, did you get that paint made up to your spec? I have a plough, so will be interested to see a picture of your modification, saw another machine for sale on that well known website, and it had a proper exhaust box fitted across the front, I think I understand why!

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi,
Many thanks for this info, & especially the 1979 advert – I’m amazed, the lawnmower I’ve been using for 10yrs is actually over 40..?! I’d assumed it was far more recent, but it must’ve been bought when the landlord 1st rented the property in the late ’70s. It’d stopped working yesterday, but after taking it apart & cleaning dried grass out’ve the motor, it’s fine again! I think I’ll treat with more respect now tho’, knowing it’s ‘vintage’…January 30, 2020 at 7:19 pm #33149
vhgmcbuddyMemberI have a F80 shopmanual and F80 partslist in paper and digital format. I am happy to share them with anyone, but I cannot share my e-mail here without annual payment (to help others…)
SO, You’ll have to find me elsewhere.

vhgmcbuddyMemberMaking slow but steady progress with my restoration. Took the petrol tank off tonight, seems very robust though rusty. It still had some fuel in but it’s also got loads of gunky stuff in there which seems to be mainly rust. Anyone got any tricks for cleaning it out? The filler hole doesn’t give much access but there’s no other way in, I’m a but puzzled as to how I’ll ever get it clean.
Suggestions welcome!
