Both have had a work out and worked well. Not being 21 any more I like the F400 with the reverse. Been practising painting with the brush, always sprayed up to now but once I got the paint the right thickness it turn out OK. Inspired by simar-kid.

Thanks Chaps ! 🙂 i think its probably too late for the carb tube….that could be why it runs the way it does and leaks into the air intake….new service kit ordered…. note taken about the trimed straight blade to remove the tube 🙂 thats just saved a lot of pain thankyou ! are there any other pearls of wisdom that are unique to this carb ?
oooh if i got a pick of the unknown rotorvator would you fellas give me your thoughts ? cheers

    Charlie,
Thanks for helping with this – I have done what you suggest – (see photo).
I can adjust the end of the cable but it looks like I need a wire or something to reach the lever. Does that sound about right?

That looks to be a different carb to mine. The air pipe is just a piece of straight 2″ hose on mine.

Thanks both. Will check these things, especially points. The engine after a few mintutes running is tip top, runs ticks over and responds well to the throttle, nice and tight, governor works well to regulate varying loads.

Also seems quite economical, as used only half a tank of fuel for a days logging pulling loaded trailer up a long and in places steep hill. engine breaking also quite good on decent.

Just this niggle that no choke is needed, which is a bit odd. I will look at the points, and if we have any trouble with it will lap valves this winter. Thanks again.

    Charlie,
Is that a barford tipping trailer I see before me on the 020 image? Got any hens teeth in there by any chance…any rocking horse…er…leftovers?

    Charlie,
Thanks for your help. From your pictures there seems to be an extra spring on mine.
There is a spring which tensions the brass governor lever. As you can see there is a bracket on my new cable but nowhere to fix it. Any suggestions?
