That is terrific thank you, nice to get help when you need it! here are some shots of the cultmate, showing the broken plough share and point, also a few shots of the carburetta, I think there is a part missing, I still cant work out the rubber plug at the top, I am sure someone will recognise it. Hi Bill, that is a nice Solo generator you have there, I am a collector of the later Solo multimot engine and attachments but yours is the 1st version and I don’t know anything about it so sorry cant help with either questions. Germany would be the best chance of parts but couldn’t say where or how you would start.

Don’t know what the old silencer looks like. Even the catalogue shows the “wrong” side of the tractor. I can only assume it looking like a slice of a cylinder about 3″ diameter and 5″ thick …… but that’s only a guess.

Hi Stuart. Not sure if you looked at my pictures posted above. The silencer itself looks as if it was part of the exaust collector that goes straight to the engine block. This would be a tad surprising as the whole unit would have to be replaced. Have tried the popular auction site without success. I could get the unit shipped to my works HQ in Michigan and collect during my next visit as long as I find the unit itself (hillsider was going to help source the part once I had confirmed the tractor serial number).
Question: Would any spare silencer do if I manage to get it connected or does it have to be the correct part designed for that purpose?? Thanks again.

Problem is I haven’t got the silencer as I am trying to get it replaced.

Thanks again Geoff. The Trusty is about 90% complete. Just have to make the throttle linkages, the countershaft brake linkage and some of the missing bits on the drawbar. Oh and put some decals on!!
I recently visited the Woollas residence to collect a miller cover for my Simar 56, which Steve had so generously offered to me. I did wonder at the time why his good lady looked so pleased to see me, that was until I saw the garden and then realised that she was just glad that I was there to take something away!!!
