Thanks for the welcome. Unfortunately I’m busy 20th/21st otherwise I’d have popped along.
I’ve recently cleared out the shed, be good to start filling it again.

You can download the B & S Repairman’s Manual for out of production engines from https://www.uni-power.co.uk/pdf/wsm/briggs/CE8069%20Repairmans%20Handbook%201919%201981.pdf

I’ve decided to buy the new coil (591420) but why does it have two wires. Does the Repairman’s Manual for engines have the torque settings needed for the engine.

I hope you discover It was a mistake or a neighbour. I know in theses days we thing the worst, I remember times when you didn’t have to worry about having to lock everything away.

Thank you for the torque setting. If I buy a new coil would someone have a link to what I would need as I don’t have a clue. These are the two I have found Magnetron Kit 394970 or 591420 (was 793281) Ignition Armature.

I have Samsung, the photo size can be altered in 2 seconds connected the camera to computer and uploaded straight from the cameras memory card or storage. I use photo size for Email, no need to transfer the photo to the computer unless you want to.

As an organiser of several events and gatherings over the years I can only agree with the above comments, the more the merrier but a phone call would be a good idea !!

Whilst on holiday in North Yorkshire, a Martin Markham spreader popped up on the bay in Harrogate (not far away from where we are staying – that’s handy), we picked it up today in a borrowed trailer and its now waiting to be picked up by a carrier tomorrow (no room to get it home)

Before I wasted £15 on points and condenser I tested the coil from the end of the spark plug lead to the metal body and got a reading of 2.70 ohm. If I test the lead that comes from the coil to the condenser it gives a reading then drops down to 0.00, So should I be testing for continuity instead.

I need some advice on what’s best to do as when I removed the flywheel I found this in the photo and when I went to clean the points the metal wire snapped.

I’m not familiar with a nikon, but some cameras you can alter the size of the photo. If you select a size suitable for an email it will upload OK.

    Thank you for your reply.

The rotavator was repaired about 6 years ago as I don’t think it was firing and the pull cord either snapped or it was slipping. I don’t think it’s had a magnetron ignition conversion but I will try and check later when I collect the rotavator. If I change the points will I need a new points plunger 65704S

Apologies for my second reply regarding no points. I have since look up Briggs models 80200 – 80292 and seen that I was wrong. Sorry for any confusion.
