ParticipantAlthough not always obvious there is if I remember correctly a groove on the needle that the clip at the top of the float locates in, to get the float to engage with this I found it best to hold the needle up into the base of the carb while gently pushing the float down until it clicks into place. Holding the needle up also makes it easier to locate the top of the needle into the top cover spigot. If this comes out or misses its target it can be another reason for the carb to flood.

ParticipantCharlie and John, I have noticed that this happens if you view a topic without logging on. If John logs on I am sure all will be revealed – hopefully, why this should happen is one for the boffins.

ParticipantNot sure if it helps or not but our email system has a facility to recover emails that have been deleted, it is to be found right at the bottom of the deleted messages page and recover all messages recently deleted.

ParticipantIf you have moles in your lawn that will give them a headache!
I don’t imagine the machine will take you too long to sort out how it works, but if you are looking for engine information I can send you a pdf copy of the Villiers F12 manual if it would help?

ParticipantQuote – Any chance of upping the point size of posts to the forum?
Yes please, something resembling the appearance of the old forum would be easier on the eyes, especially for folk who use small screen devices or have restricted vision.
I realise that those with small screens scan sometimes enlarge the view but then you lose half the text off the screen and end up scrolling etc.October 19, 2013 at 9:19 am #1373hillsider
ParticipantIf it is of any help when I sorted my avatar I resized the original photo down to small email size in picture manager before uploading it. From there the cropping function on here seemed to deal with the image better and allowed me to get a better view although it still would not get the whole of the building into the frame.
Have fun exploring,
Ray.Ps. the edit function does work I have just used it here.

ParticipantI clicked on the time of last post link in the freshness column and it took me directly to the last post of this topic with no problem. We will find our way around – eventually.

ParticipantQuestion for you, does Kent pattern refer to a pattern of sprayer peculiar to the county of Kent or does it relate to a manufacturers name? The reason for asking that I remember seeing Kent water meters and wonder if it was the same company.
It is a nice find though whatever the answer is, i often wonder what other treasures are lurking in sheds and warehouses waiting to be discovered.October 15, 2013 at 9:44 pm #1118hillsider
ParticipantThat’s ok, with the end of the rally season upon us you may find that the workshop will be preferable to a diet of soaps, so long as the temperature is not too low.
Look forward to seeing it in projects.October 15, 2013 at 5:19 pm #1100hillsider
ParticipantHello Kevin,
If I ask how is the Bantam that you collected from me does that help?

ParticipantThanks for the comment Charlie, you may have noticed that the cutting cylinder is completely covered by paint with no cutting edge visible. This was deliberate as the owner of the mower does not intend to use the machine as a mower so the blades are set with clearance, his intention was to use it a roller for his lawn due to its weight! However since its return I don’t believe he has had the heart to get it dirty.

ParticipantHello to all, yes it is all a bit strange at the moment but I guess we will find our way around given time. As has happened before the site is working ok here on the Ipad but our laptop defaults to the old site no matter what I do!
I am sure the site will look better once more of our supporters migrate over and get few threads on the go.
