daveParticipantHi, Your Ransomes MG5 dates from 1949. I do have a parts list for a MG5 and an engine
instruction book. I can get my grandson to download and send to you. Please
contact me at djclark89@btinternet.com and I will try and help you.

daveParticipantThere are two service sheets on the member downloads which may be of help.
If this does not help please phone me as I think I know where there is a
ramdozer that I might be able to go and photograph for you. Also can I have
your tractor and engine numbers for the Ransomes register.
Many thanks. Dave.August 21, 2020 at 1:39 pm #35258
daveParticipantPeter. Many thanks for the Ransomes MG2 details. I will add them to the Ransomes register. Your machine was made in 1938. If you need help I do have a MG2 handbook that I can download and send on to you. Your machine looks in very good order, congratulations, keep up the good work.

The Carburettor you require is a Amal concentric no 244/873.
The fuel pump is an Amal type 150/858.
As Neil comments they are very rare items.
Can you please send me the tractor and engine numbers for
the Ransomes register.

daveParticipantA friend of mine had the same problem. He managed to cut a bit of digger bucket
lip plate to size and carefully trimmed the old worn share to shape and mig
welded the lip plate into place. Not a 100% job but it got him ploughing again.
Can you please send me the frame and engine numbers for the Ransomes register.September 28, 2019 at 8:15 am #32080
daveParticipantIts very much like the Darby digger. Made in Wickford Essex. and fitted
