ParticipantHi Derek, unfortunately my BMB is still a long way off from being finished. It had stood outside for many years, it was completely overgrown with briars. I had stripped it down and had started to sort it out when I got sidetracked by collecting Ransomes crawlers. I’ll get it finished one day (hopefully).

ParticipantHi Tony, I’d like to be able to attend but I’m over in Northern Ireland so it would be a bit of a trek.
Look forward to seeing some photos of your new machine. Those 2 machines will make a very nice display.

ParticipantHi Tony, well done with your new purchase. From the photos it looks to be in very good condition. Can you put a few photos up of your new Troy? Did it have a plough fitted?
RobMarch 23, 2015 at 9:48 pm #12206crawler
ParticipantHi Derek, it certainly looks a very purposeful machine fitted with those dual wheels.

ParticipantHi Tony
I don’t know if you have seen it, but there are a couple of photos of a Troy Tractivator in the general section of the forum. On the second page of the ‘Tractor World’ post there are a selection of machines from the auction. The handles look to be of a similar design as to what you need for your machine.

ParticipantHi Derek
Email sent. No need to worry about money, I have them already scanned and saved as PDFs. That’s what the forum is all about, helping each other out when we can.
Post some photos of your MG5 in the ride on section, it’s always nice to see some new machines on here.
My own BMB Plowmate is still in bits, one day I’ll get it back together.

ParticipantI have come across videos on Youtube of that type of log splitter in action, looks quite effective but I imagine you would have to keep your wits about you when you are operating it.
The rear tiller looks like a very useful attachment to have.March 22, 2015 at 9:35 pm #12173crawler
ParticipantHello Derek
Send me a Personal Message with your email address and I’ll email you a copy of the manual and parts list.
Have you any photos of your BMB you could post? From your avatar picture it looks like a nice machine.
RobMarch 13, 2015 at 9:14 pm #12038crawler
ParticipantThat looks to be a very useful machine, where I am we get very little snow worth talking about.
I saw your other post listing your machines and attachments, you have quite a collection. If you have any photos of your machines with the different attachments you could post some, it’s always nice to see something different.

ParticipantWow, they look great. I’m sure you were glad when you had finished making and fitting all those swamp blocks.
Those two machines will make a very interesting display at any event.

ParticipantHi Tony, thanks that is some very useful information to have.
Are you going to try and fabricate some handles for your Troy?
RobFebruary 22, 2015 at 2:56 pm #11799crawler
ParticipantVery nice restoration. I like the idea of the oil pressure guage. Did you make the spacers for setting the tracks in the wide position? My MG6 has its tracks in the wide position and it helps keep the side of the tractor clean if things get muddy.
Unrelated, but I like your new profile picture, nice looking Lab. I’ve never been without a Lab at my side.
I look forward to seeing some photos if you go ahead with the replica ramdozer.

ParticipantHi Tony
I’m on my phone so I hope this works. Just did a search on the old forum and found a photo that ‘rollo man’ posted. It is a mk2 that he has and it has a different handle to what the brochures show. I’m not sure if he is still a member. At least it shows that the bracket at the back of yours is original.

ParticipantHi Tony
That’s odd, all the pictures in the brochures show a round section handle. It certainly looks like your machine had a different style of handle though.
There was a member called ‘rolloman’ on the old forum that had a Tractivator as well, not sure what model though. I don’t think I have seen him on the new forum.
