It might be worth enquiring if the original authority that issued the registration mark retained the original records in their archive, not all did. FO appears to be Radnorshire which I think is now part of Powys.

If the number was spare ie vehicle declared scrap, then the number may have been reissued as an age related plate. It may be worth contacting the DVLA to find out.

That number (GFO 258) would appear to be an Indian, with 1200cc petrol engine dated 1946 currently on SORN according to DVLA records.

I too initially thought it was a M11, but the air filter is in a different location, front of radiator. Some research I have done and documents found at Museum of English Rural Life, Reading, point towards a 10E.

Marc, welcome to our forum. I am sure fellow SIMAR collectors will be interested in your pages. I have a collection myself including model 5, 30, 35 and 56 plus what I think is a 10 (see photo). The 56 I have is the 28th one made by Geo Monro, Nov 1948 and I still use it once or twice a year. I also have the soil shredder attachment for the 56.

To upload photo first ensure file size is less than 4MB, if it is more you will need to compress the file.
After checking file size is within limits, click on ‘choose file’ add select the photo file, then submit.

If you receive an email that you are not expecting it is good practice to hover the cursor over the senders email address it will then show the true address. If different then you know the email account it is trying to look like it has come from has been spoofed.
Never open an attachment in any such emails.

Svein, it may well be worth starting a new topic for your machine. I know there is at least one club member with a Crawley.

Welcome. Not quite the right forum, best place is https://vhgmc.co.uk/forums/forum/the-machinery-forums/ride-on-machines/
To drive on public roads you will need to register the steed, should be tax and MoT exempt as it is over 40 years old so Historic Vehicle tax class, you will also need full RTA insurance. Any good insurer should be able to insure it, check out adverts in magazines such as Tractor and Machinery etc. Club forum member trusty220 is our Trusty expert.
Obtaining a V5 should be possible, you will need proof of date of manufacture for age related plate and historic tax class.
