charlieKeymasterChris, even if you did find an engineering company to make it the cost would be very high. Have you tried Llewellin’s to see if they could make one.

charlieKeymasterWhat type of carb is fitted? A photo will help identify it.
Is engine throttle controlled or does it rely on just the governor?
If it has a throttle cable going into top of the carb, there should be an adjuster where the cable enters the carb, there is also usually some adjustment at the throttle lever end.
Is the tick over screw set correctly this prevents the throttle butterfly closing completely, if it has one (depends on type of carb).March 27, 2020 at 8:29 am #33609

charlieKeymasterCastrol XL SAE 30 was recommended and is still available, Morris Lubricants do a range of classic oils which include a non multigrade SAE 30.

charlieKeymasterSo long as we follow whatever government advice and guidelines are in place then everything else should be business as usual. I am sure the government will make decisions on businesses closing as and when they see it necessary eg yesterdays announcement regarding pubs, restaurants etc.
Many if not all shows are likely to be cancelled this summer so the club forum will be a good way for members to keep in touch. I like the sound of a virtual rally.
One area that will be problematic is buying stuff via adverts or e bay etc that needs collecting. What to do will need to be a joint decision made by buyer and seller. Current guidelines and advice regarding travel and social distancing would suggest not to.March 18, 2020 at 8:14 am #33559
charlieKeymasterI always have to drain excess fuel from the crankcase before starting. I have found it will not start if I don’t.

charlieKeymasterHi New to this forum and have a question about 12hp Gems mine has stripped the splines out of the right hand hub, Are there any fixes for this (inserts ,liners etc) the splines on the shaft look un touched but the cylinder on the 4 bolt flange has been stripped out. Did consider Mig welding some metal back on and file and grinding it out must be a better fix out there. regards kettering bloke
