There’s an awful lot of truth in the old saying “99% of fuel problems are electrical”.
The best way to rebuild a Magneto is to source the parts and do it yourself , the only part most of us won’t have access to is a PROPER ignition tester , but generally we know a man who has..
    Glad all’s well .

“One of the great things about our hobby is we can use what we collect.”

Exactly , great feeling when you can actually use these machines , all mine have to earn their keep.

Angus , yes there were both 3 and 4 hole starters for the F12.

Angus , I’m thinking you require the pressed steel type starter rather that the cast alloy type.
I’m fairly certain it is the same as some of the Villiers lightweights , failing this the cowlings would be interchangeble , and you could revert back to the Siba type starter.

I’d hate to tiddle on your bonfire , but from your description , it sounds to me as if you still have a magneto problem.

Stuart , by the age and the fact that it’s british , I would hazard a good guess that it would be BSF.

Pete , I’m certain you will really enjoy Weeley , great bunch of friendly enthusiasts. For a change this year I hope to bring something old , and something not so old.
Look forward to meeting you there.
