They have run out of mowers to feature on the front cover as you seem to have them all in your cave!!

I had the felt washers made by Ram Gasket Solutions of Redruth, Cornwall (see https://www.ramgaskets.com/washers/felt/). They were the only company I could find who were prepared to custom make a small quantity.
They were quite expensive, costing £72.48 for 10. I still have a few left, so if you are interested in purchasing some, send me a private message. Alternatively, if you want to try and get some made yourself, the dimensions of the washers I had made were 133mm outside diameter, 112mm inside diameter and a thickness of 12mm.

The carb has been thoroughly cleaned now, as has the inside of the fuel pump.

The spark plug and ht lead have been replaced.

The ignition timing is spot on to the instructions in the manual, so it should start next time.

What modern equivalent oils can i use for the engine, transmission and the air filter?

Getting to grips with this aquisition now but need some green paint. Any idea about the spec/colour and a supplier?

I wish I had known about the circular plate before I spent a day cutting out and rebuilding the wheel, O well you live and learn. Although I might make a couple of plates for some rubber tyre wheels for transporting purposes. I have a question for Busman, could you please let me know who you had make your felt washers for your trusty? thanks Brian.

On my Trusty there is a round piece of plate sandwiched between the inside of the wheel and reduction gear housing into which the felt washer locates. The plate has been pressed to form a small lip all the way around the circumference. The inside diameter of this lip is the same outside diameter of the felt washer. Not sure if this plate was fitted to all Trusty’s as there is no mention of it on my spare parts list. Unfortunately, of all the parts that I photographed when rebuilding mine, I don’t have one showing this round plate.
Anyway, you are making very good progress. I still haven’t completely finished mine after more than 2 years!!

Thanks for the parts manual, this will be really useful.
Looks as though there should be an instruction manual out there somewhere its shown as part no. EB0351A so at least I’ve got a clue to start searching.

Hi Wristpin,
Thanks for the info, sounds like the same machine but it has two Vee belts the second drives an intermediate pulley which then drives the ribbed roller belt and yes you are correct the handles are a weak point, one of these broken on my machine so will need to locate another.
Any docs you can supply will be appreciated,

Hi everyone,
here is an update on progress, I managed to get my hands on a float and banjo from another carb I found on an auction site, I also found a good mag at a good price. The new plates came back and I managed to drill all the holes by clamping the old ones together with the new plates.
The centre on the other wheel had to be cut out as the felt washer would not of rubbed smoothly against the corroded wheel, I also had to make the back plate and top plate of the gear box as they had rusted away. I constructed a sand blaster a few years ago so its been quiet easy to clean and paint the parts, so if you live near by (Erith) you can always come and have a go at blasting some of your parts. Here are some more pictures.
