vhgmcbuddyMemberAs the gearbox side panels are just flat plate, I think your best bet would be to get new ones made using the originals as templates. Any small fabrication/engineering workshop should be able to knock up some new ones for you without too much of a problem. You could even buy some sheet steel and have a crack at making them yourself. Same goes for the wheel centres, as these are also flat plate.
As Charlie says, the Zenith 24T2 carb should be fairly easy to get hold of at auto jumbles, tractor shows or online auction sites. You can even buy new ones, if you are prepared to shell out a daft sum of money!!November 2, 2014 at 8:46 pm #10571
vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks for that! One last thing……I’m 99.9% sure the engine is a villiers, I’m just not sure on what model. Are you able to help with this as well HDtrust?

vhgmcbuddyMemberWell done, good tidy gob there looks great. I fitted a Honda GX160 5.5 in place of a 5 HP Briggs on my Merry Tiller Major, been well pleased with it over the last two seasons. Nothing wrong with the Briggs when it was running OK but it had become difficult to start and lacked power. I’ve since found out the valves were leaking, especially the exhaust. Reground valves, no wear on the bore so I left things as they were. Now picked up a M T with no engine after looking for some time. So be able to fit the briggs to see how it goes.
I’m sure you’ll be pleased with your Wizard when you try it out.November 1, 2014 at 3:14 pm #10551
