vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Guys,
Thanks for the advice. My MG5 is still proving extremely extremely tricky to start.
We don’t have a fuel problem, more of an intermediate weak spark issue. I’ve replaced the points and condensor in the Mag and set it all up as per the book but still no joy. I now suspect there are some internal issues within the Mag..
I need to find a of measuring its exact output voltage before I fork out for an overhauled one, as my voltmeter maxes out at 1000V.
Can anyone recommend a company in the UK that can sell me or provide an overhaul service for my mag?
Thoughts please.

vhgmcbuddyMembersorry I forgot to say the only sound I hear from the injector/pump is a single click when the diesel injects, but it sounds like its from the pump

vhgmcbuddyMemberthanks Stuart and Andy, I was wondering about the pump myself, it kept coming to my mind if it was working correctly,do either of you know how to time this type of engine? as I can only see 2 centre punch marks close together on the flywheel, and all I can see on the flywheel housing is a half moon shape cut out (or notch you might say) at about 4o’clock

vhgmcbuddyMemberyes blead the system right through,it is new to me and I have not had it running,I have spent many hours trying to get it going its a project I decided to take on in the hope that I could get it back to running order, but at the moment I.m struggling because I cannot find a engine repair manual in English, also tried lighting the fuses and putting them in not lighted, but no joy

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Andy, its fitted to a large mk4 Clifford, I had the injector done by professionals it also had a new nozzle fitted at the same time, also using starter fuses but it will not fire not even a puff of smoke

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Stuart, yes its the water cooled as fitted to the Howard Gem, but its fitted on a Clifford mk4 I bought it around a month ago, Ive replaced fuel filter also cleaned the air filter, it seems ok on compression though, at some point in time someone has replaced the regulater casing as its painted orange as if it came off a Howard Gem,as for checking the engine timing I can only find a repair manual (on the internet) in German language, and I cannot get it to translate into English,I’m a bit stuck really
