    Bish welcome to the forum.
Stuart whilst having the engine on my SIMAR 11 rebuilt it had new roller bearing for the bog end made and a new crank pin turned up. The work was carried out by Cox & Turner, it might be worth contacting them to ask where they got the bearing made. It would be possible to have a new con rod machined out of a solid billet.

Steve that sounds a sensible approach, get them clean then let them develop a natural old look.

Alan it might be worth contacting Exmoor Trim, they make reproduction seat cushions (and canvas hoods) for old Land Rovers.

Pete, thanks for the detailed summary of work to date glad to hear of your success it sounds like the Bonser has done a fair bit of work and suffered neglect in the past. Keep up the good work.

It is possible to buy the parts, inner, outer and nipples to make your own. You will need a good soldering iron 100w or more. I have just made throttle cables for a couple of my Monro Tillers. Universal cable kits are available, try your local motorcycle spares dealer. If you know the dimensions etc it might be worth speaking to John Cruse at THe Mower Centre, Hailsham; he does mail order.

I had to do a similar repair to the handles on my 35c. If you can post a photo of the broken handlebar we may be able to offer further suggestions. The 35c does not seem to be as common as the bigger 56a.

From the days before health & safety!!! I seem to remember there was some debate a while ago on the forum about a mechanism for disengaging drive to the blade. If I remember rightly later models did have something.

A difficult one to answer and know what is right. I have often wondered how shiny they would have been when new, did they have a protective lacquer of some sort? But if they are badly corroded and dirty then some cleaning will be required, I suppose the ideal would be something that can remove the dirt and corrosion without too much polishing.

Alan, I was thinking the same, it will get the information to all members and hopefully prompt a few to add other sizes to give a more complete picture. Something that would be useful is an additional column with the modern equivalent size if available.
Hugh 10×2 would be overall tyre diameter and width, 4.00-6 would be rim width and wheel diameter, so not sure it is correct, 2.00-6 would be more likely.
