vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Gareth picked up a sachs diesel (engine only) a few months back so looking forward to following this one. The previous owner gave up on trying to start it and replaced it with a kohler . Yours looks to be in good shape .

Im off to find me a few cambelts tomorrow, first things first the strip downFebruary 19, 2017 at 9:51 pm #24446
vhgmcbuddyMemberHi, somewhere I have got a manual for both but at the moment I’m struggling to find them.
For the tyres pop down your local garage and ask for some old cambelts, that they’ve changed. Turn them inside out and get a good contact adhesive to bond them to the rim. Almost undetectable from the originals.February 17, 2017 at 9:06 pm #24433
vhgmcbuddyMemberGeoff, please put me down for a copy of the Trusty book, sounds very interesting…
Chris sorry to hear you are unwell, get well soon !
We’ll be at Tractor World next weekend, we’ve been asked to display one of our Cub Cadet tractors on the International Harvester Club GB display.
See you all there !

vhgmcbuddyMemberLooks like something from “Time Team”!! Obviously a very early machine. I’ve had a quick google of the patent numbers, but nothing has turned up.

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi Trusty9428 – I had similar problems and with much help from this site and especially Trusty220 I now have a perfect working clutch. I will try to do a link for the thread here (which has photos etc.), but despite me rebuilding the whole clutch (new springs, re-lined clutch shoes, new copper washer and clutch bushes) the thing that really solves the problem is to grease the clutch bush. You should find a grease nipple at the end of the keyway.
Do take care tightening up the bolts on the cast clutch housing as this can easily crack.February 12, 2017 at 4:16 pm #24394
vhgmcbuddyMemberhi all
firstly i would like to give a big thanks to you for supporting tractorfest last year, it was a great success with 10.000 visitors and we had wonderful feedback on the horticultural display which is all down to your great support.
this years event will be held on 19th and 20th of august 2017 and again we will be having a horticultural display theme. this years theme will be anything ransomes, from push mowers to crawlers. so if you have any ransomes equipment please do enter it this year.
there will also a wheelhorse roundup which has not been done in the south east since 2013 so again please do enter your wheelhorse if you have one.
as usual any other horticultural machinery and equipment is also welcome and is in my view equally important as the theme , please feel free to pm me if you have any questions
again many thanks for your continued support

vhgmcbuddyMemberI take it that some of you have looked at my 700 working plouing on Yoytube and maybe the old posting of the clutch modification I would recomend.
I am now looking for a pair of 19″ wheels and howard wheel spacers to fit a plough to another 700 also looking for a single furrow plow. Thanks Jack Myosotis

vhgmcbuddyMemberIt does have its disadvantages though, firstly it’s a 30 mile round trip from where I live, and secondly it’s size means a 47kg of propane only lasts about 3 weeks in our space heater this time of year.

vhgmcbuddyMemberProgress has been slowly getting on. The bonnet has had the crack welded up and ive reshaped the front as well as I could, now the longwinded task of filling it.
The injector has come back from being refurbished, not bad at £65 with the carriage.
All the paint has been stripped off the gearbox and handles, just got to wait for it to warm up outside so I can wire brush it.
Also ive now had the factory records back on this one, it was apparently built on 10/03/1962 and dispatched to W.Wood Ltd in Horsham on 16/03/1962. The records also confirm that the engine is the original one.February 11, 2017 at 6:14 pm #24368
vhgmcbuddyMemberThanks for that ted20, the images on google show a rainbow so its difficult to know which to choose. I doubt very much there were the assortment of colours then that there is now, so I think I’ll keep it simple.

vhgmcbuddyMemberHi, I received your pm to my old account that I can no longer reply to. I’ll have a dig through my brochures on the weekend and see what I can turn up.
