charlieKeymasterPicard and Pictet were UK importers pre 1930. Looking on other SIMAR websites this model is different to any listed. When weather is better and ground has dried out it would be good to recover it, although way beyond restoration.

charlieKeymasterOddly enough I made a similar comment about Time Team to the person that sent me the photos. Like you no luck with patent numbers.

charlieKeymasterYes the same Geo Monro of Station Approach, Waltham Cross. I have two Monro Minors which are earlier models with the Villiers 7F vertical crank 2 stroke engines.

charlieKeymasterPete I can confirm your mystery machine is a Monro Minor or Crunchtiller, the yellow colour and traces of transfer confirm it is a later machine from Mechanised Gardening,Great Gransden, Cambridgeshire; they ceased trading a good few years ago now. The second photo shows the part number MM1 ie Monro Minor 1, most parts for the Monro Minor had similar numbers.I know from the time I have spent helping catalogue them most drawings for parts are held at MERL.

charlieKeymasterA reminder to all club members. Please ignore any dates you see on this website that indicate membership expires at any time other than 31st December. Also ignore anything that suggests membership renews automatically, it doesn’t, you have to renew and pay online or send in the renewal form with a cheque.

charlieKeymasterYes that is what I thought as I was scanning them.
The 8 page magazine grew to 16, sometimes 20 pages depending on material available for articles. The typed newsletter format then grew to a proper magazine style layout and photo quality improved. A colour cover and centre spread was then introduced in the August issue. Quarterly publication became 5 a year and is now bi monthly and full colour.January 26, 2017 at 6:13 pm #24180
charlieKeymasterJames, welcome to the club, your membership pack is in the post. I am not far from you, Midsomer Norton.

charlieKeymasterTesting the magneto with a multi meter will only prove continuity, or lack of and resistance of windings. The only way to test a magneto properly is on a magneto tester. It would be a good idea to give the contacts a good clean and check the gap, also make sure contact on inside of cap is clean and making good contact with coil.
