Have you considered marking everything with ‘smart water’ type technology eg Select DNA, as per FBHVC article in The Cultivator some time ago. It may not prevent theft but it will enable items to be identified. The signs warning that items are marked should be a deterent.

Joe, thanks for the vote of thanks. We are all in this hobby for one reason (well should be) and that is to collect, preserve and use our machines and tools etc. It is not about, ‘I have got a bigger collection than you’ or ‘my restoration is shinier than any body else’, or winning more prizes. The club weekends are for all club members to get together and enjoy our hobby.
Looking forward to the next working weekend.

I use my 1957 Land Rover for most of my towing. The longest journey so far was from Midsomer Norton to Ireland for the world record event 8 years ago. This was the Land Rovers second trip to Ireland.

That reminds me of my days as an apprentice with what was Post Office Telecommunications (now BT) they had a fleet of the enclosed vans. I also drove a TV detector van of this type which had an automatic gearbox. Hope you can make it to Weeley.

The earlier Rotogardener and Rototiller have a different engine. The 80 has a JAP engine. I do have operating instructions for the 80, drop me a personal message with your e mail address and I will send a scanned copy.

The click from the magneto you refer to sounds as if the magneto has an impulse mechanism. This is operated by a spring which is wound up as you turn the magneto and trips to spin magneto faster than you are turning it. This gives a bigger spark for starting, when running the impulse does not operate.
In your list of what you do step a) disconnect HT lead. I dont see any step where you reconnect it!

The photo is not very clear, which does not help. It may well be a machine from Europe, there are several possible names.

I was asked at the weekend how much the 4m x 10m Gala Tent marquee cost, looking on their website they are just under £600. A 4m x 4m one is £340.
