They fit to the Major models quite easily, I put the front ring on the ground, roll the machine backwards into the ring, align the Tiller with lugs on the ring then lift the ring until the rear lug goes into the slot where the skid fits, get the pin through. Then bring the front lug up and put the pin through the ole in the chassis.
Note 1: If the truck has a rectangular rear lug it won’t fit the early C type Merry Tiller (round hole for the skid)
Note 2: I don’t think you can fit a 5 cwt truck on a Titan because the hitch is different, I could be wrong here though.

Thanks, Jim, I’ll put a note in the next Cultivator. I would like to add my appreciation of the wonderful job you and Karen have done for the club, not only at our Lotmead Weekend but for us lot at Strawberries and Steam.

Wow, the first powered Horticultural machine to have got to that milestone! Now who has the oldest one in the club?

We’ve got a mention in the latest issue of FBHVC News, for the front cover picture on the October issue (113) showing the children at Ardingly. With push hoes, seeders, a fertiliser spreader they looked great and thanks to Michaela Portsmouth for the photo!

A bit more on the Levis, for the 1922 TT they had a momentous innovation, an alloy barrel, the alloy jacket was cast onto an iron liner. It is pretty clear why Monro chose them!

Levis were manufacturers of two stroke motorcycles manufactured by Butterfields Ltd of Birmingham, England, founded in 1911, while they were considered ride to work machines, they did win the 250cc TT in 1920 and ’22. In the ’30’s four strokes came on the scene including an 250cc OHC model and a pushrod 500. Production ceased in 1940.

Most motorcycle clutches run in oil, Norton book recommends SAE 30 oil but ATF is better, if you can keep it in the primary chaincase. Plates had cork inserts in the early days but later they were faced with Ferodo material. The albion clutches on many of our machines are similar to lightweight motorcycle clutches.
