Hi Andy
The one i had previously had a coil ignition but this one has battery and the ht lead goes
into and behind the flywheel so it must be a very early one.I will try and get a photo of it to upload sometime tomorrow

I have just acquired a mk4 triple which is stripped bare of all cutters to be used as a garden tractor it has been stood under cover for 20+ years.i believe it is a very early one.
My problem is there seems to be no spark could anyone tell me where the magneto is and how to get to it to do a service any drawings – diagrams would be helpful…[Read more] -

I have several allen scythes each one has different plugs in could someone please tell me what is the proper plug and its equiverlant.

i bought from a chap from Petworth near Guildford.
I would like to fit to one of my scythes but have not got a clue how to fit it.
I have just been browsing through here and i see that Karl Buckingham has one in is crank-up pictures ,hopefully he will send me some closeups of how it fits.

HI, I have just bought a leaf sweeper for my allen scythe and would like some info on how it fixes onto the machine. I think someone might have modified this, has anybody got plans or drawings showing how it fits please.

Hi,i had the same problem but i got intouch with Jennifer Glanville at MERL (museum of english rural living)tel.no 01183788660.gave her my 4 nos.She came back to me after 2 days with not only the date made but who they were origanlly sold to.Very helpfull lady.NO harm in trying her.

Hi, I have just aquired a merry tiller professional with said engine. Is there anyone out there that specialises in these engines as i need some spares to get it up and running.
