I believe that the mower is a later Qualcast 16 with Villiers midget engine.

Bought from a estate sale, 2 mowers a
Ransomes Ajax mk3 mostly there no grass collector but not sure if meant to have one. Thank you, the lady I bought the Howard off is disposing of her father’s collection and had one and I had never seen one before. I am helping her identify what some of the items are so she can get fair prices.

I have just got a Howard Bullfinch needs some work and struggling to find a manual and the Howard page throws an error if you get passed the security risk pop up.
Anyway fingers crossed here are some photos using a new compression app for Android.

I too have just got a bullfinch missing the elbow and drive belt and also leaking at the seals. Could anyone point me the direction of a manual? The Howard site throws up an error if you get past the safety warning. Also what is the rectangular loop near the engagement lever?

I was given a vintage Interlube Plymouth Lever action grease gun by my father in law. for a couple of small jobs a managed to get some grease from a tin into it but I can’t work out how to fill it properly. Kenny, Try servicing the carb, then check and clean fuel tank and replace fuel line.
Don’t forget to service the air filter too.

Thanks Rollo, It’s even more vintage than I thought.Now my garage roof is finally fixed making room, once I have done so I will take some more photos I can see that it’s missing the depth bar so will have to fabricate one. there is a lot of surface rust thankfully no holes and only a little in the tank last time it was fired was about 40 years ago…[Read more]

Just got home from picking up another project from the bay auction house 😉 I can’t find a makers mark there are 2 casings that have MRH 1 and MRH10. there is also a supplied by Haynes Brothers Maidstone brass stamp on there.
