A bit like the Bronnson. What was the writing on the red part?

This is proving to be a real mystery. Forum member hortiman might be able to help.

Club member David Pearce has one which he stills uses and brings along as an exhibit at Semington.

Handle bar mounting is different to the 700. Probably need an expert on Australian Howard models.

The threads will most likely be Whit and or BSF, not UNF, UNC or metric. UNC is close to Whit and UNC nuts may go on a Whit threaded bolt or stud but they will not be a correct fit.

Although they are all posted at the same time, delivery can be spread over a number of days, might be worse this time due to Christmas post.
If not received by next week let me know.

Part no. 10396 is an extension which would have been an extra, not standard.

As the temperature plummets (too cold to spend very long searching) I think it is time for another visit to the caves to see what I can acquire!!!!
landie57 has had a few interesting items, not horticultural, to sell on that well known auction site recently.

A great find and a lot of TLC needed.

Before cutting the nut try soaking it with penetrating oil (not WD40), worth trying heat then rapid cooling with WD40 or similar, then after a day or so try an impact driver the shock should free it. DO NOT use fins of cooling fan to lock crank. Remember it has probably never been off since it was originally assembled. Do you have a parts list? If not drop me a pm with your e mail address so I can send one. If you do not already have the date for your machine I can supply this from the machine serial number 56???

I will have to check but I think it is right hand thread. Getting the nut undone is the easy bit. Getting the fan off the taper is the hard bit.

UPDATE. November issue is in the post and you should get your copy next week if you have not already received it. If your membership is due for renewal (that will be all members except those that have joined since end of August) a renewal form with directory entry on reverse should be enclosed.
