The following enquiry has come to the club, can anyone help confirm if oil cake breakers were or could be used for this?
‘We are currently re-creating an Edwardian Potting Shed and have been approached by a local farmer who is willing to donate his antique oil cake cutter machine. He insists that it would have also been used in horticulture to break up soil and roots but after much research I cannot find any evidence of this only that it was used to break-up animal feed in agriculture. I was wondering if you might know whether this piece of machinery was used in horticulture/gardening?
Look forward to hearing from you.’
