    Hi

Does anybody know what gearbox oil I should use in my Howard bantam, could I use a modern car gearbox oil such as 75W80?

    Many Thanks

The manual recommends an SAE140 oil for all gears. Morris Oils do a suitable oil AG140 Modern car oils contain additives that could harm the bronze worm wheel in the drive line.

    Hi

Thanks for the reply, I understand there are three different areas that need to be filled with gearbox oil, in some areas the drain screws are on top so do you need to suck the oil out with a pipe and fill it up until the oil comes out of the oil level screw? Do you know how much oil I would need, would I get away with a 1l bottle?

    Many Thanks for the help

    Jack
